Conversations with a Musician (Book)

Conversations with a Musician, Glenn Miller Trombonist Speaks…  by Dr. Paul Tanner

Glenn Miller found me in what was called a “strip join”. The entertainment was the fact that young ladies(?) disrobed for the delight of the customers. Glenn took me away from all that! He had an orchestra previously but was forced to disband. Now he was starting over again, this time he made it. I am privileged to be able to narrate the amusing and unusual happenings that were bound to take place in an organization like that one.

Dr. Paul O.W. Tanner played trombone with Glenn Miller through the extent of his civilian orchestra, then Charlie Epivak, Les Brown, Tex Beneke, Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, etc.
