Tried & True Recipies from Bon's Bakehouse
In this cookbook, Bonnie and Jim Stalder share more than 450 tried and true recipes from their 14 years of operating Bon’s Bakehouse in Greenfield, Iowa. Bonnie and Jim retired in 2008, but share favorites from their popular noon lunches and catered meals as well as recipes their family enjoys when they get together. The spiral bound, plastic laminated cookbook measures 8 ½ x 6 ½ inches and has 157 pages of recipes.
The recipes are divided into eight sections:

Included in the cookbook is their recipe for peach cobbler, a favorite they served at the annual Taste of Southwest Iowa at the state capitol.
Peach Cobbler
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 can peach pie filling
- ½ cup margarine, melted
Mix sugar, flour, egg, baking powder and salt by hand until crumbly. Put pie filling in bottom of an 8x8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle crumb mixture over pie filling. Drizzle melted margarine over crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Double recipe for 9x13-inch pan.
